Alex Newton is a filmmaker and freelance editor. Clients include Digitas (Procter&Gamble, American Express), Vice, and The New York Times. His award-winning documentary work has played at festivals including Savannah, Orlando, New Haven, Breckenridge, Twin Cities, HollyShorts, IndieGrits, The African Film Festival of Atlanta, and the Art Monastery Of Italy.
In addition, Alex has worked in independent film distribution for Cinetic Media and Cineverse (formerly Cinedigm), with clients including HBO Films, Starz, Studio Ghibli, Rooster Teeth, and Drafthouse Films.
Alex was raised in Pennsylvania and is of Catalan and Texan descent. He lives in Savannah Georgia where he is a Professor of Film and Television at the Savannah College Of Art And Design.
